Memories

To our dear family and friends ~
In the evening hours of Monday, May 14th, 2018, my mom left this world to join our Father God in heaven.  She had been sleeping soundly since the early afternoon and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, exactly where she wanted to be.
Please share your memories or stories about my mom in the comments below for all who loved her to enjoy.  I intend to keep this page active as a Memorial to my mom.
My deepest gratitude for all of your prayers, calls, visits, messages, and kind words.
Lovingly,
Rosa

  1. Mimi, I will always think of you as my vibrant, gregarious cousin from our youth. You spent some time in our home with a newborn Rosa Maria and we became even closer. Geography separated us but we would talk for hours reminiscing and laughing about the good, old days. I will miss you, I will miss sending photos of Anthony and what you had to say about him. You will be forever in our hearts!

  3. I will never forget your Mom. I probably haven’t seen her since high school, but she was always the sweetest lady.
I remember coming to your apartment to pick you up or hang out with you. She’d make sure we had something to drink by the pool. I tried out my Spanish on her. Always a smile.
She is in the presence of God now – whole & fully well. That doesn’t make you miss her any less, but hopefully it does bring some comfort.

  4. I will miss dear Mimi, she was always so upbeat and sweet.
I will never forget that she took my mom, my grandma, Victor and me to the beach when we arrived from Cuba, what a fun time we had. I’m also forever grateful when my dad came to visit from Cuba and she took him to dinner they had such a good time.
She’s now with God and her love ones.
She forever will be in our hearts.
I’m here if you need me.
    Love you Rose

  5. Rose, my best memory of your momma was her sweet heart. When you came to visit us, or we were in California, your mom was so kind and loving. A very generous and loving lady who lived for our Lord.

  7. I remember you showing-up to work with us at NSC…
It didn’t take long for you to completely ‘win over’ absolutely everyone

I don’t mean to imply you were just all ‘smiley and friendly’ (that would be Francis)… You were happy & FEARLESS

That’s the word that comes to me…

Also, you had lived enough life to joke around with / and take no offense to some of the more offensive things that may have been said…(howdy Jerry & Steve)

You weren’t even phased by ‘the boss’ … which is legendary in my book

I think we will all pass through this life with memories of you that inevitably make us more confident and more brave.

    Thank you for that!

Godspeed on your journey back to your Heavenly Home! I know your Heavenly Father knows you well enough to have prepared a place in His Mansions…where he can hold you close (and keep an eye on you as well)

    Thank you Eloisa!

  8. Rose, Doy and I live in the corner house with the orange door. We’re so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. We remember your Mom as this very kind lady, with a big smile for everyone, who would sit in your driveway and watch my boys play in the street. Sometimes my dogs would get loose and they’d make a beeline for your house and go directly to your mom who would chide them for barking so much. I wish I had gotten to know her more. From what I’ve read, she was a very special person.
